Seeing the poetry of the beloved Patti Smith is an honor. Seeing her at the Ann Arbor Opera House; the way she helped us all Wave to Virginia.
Seeing Patti bring the house down at the Michigan theatre with 'Gimme Shelter', was the most amazing experience. I even let myself have a few special french Oval cigarettes. As a runner I never give in to smoking, but it just seemed so perfect to be there with such an amazing poet. I felt alive.

The first time I heard "Wing" was at the FIllmore in SF. I remember she had introduced it saying that the rhythm of the song was, and I`m paraphrasing here, inspired by a beach in the southern atlantic one summer evening. I think of this song for loved ones who`ve passed away. This video is fantastic!
