My wife LOVES her high-efficiency LG washing machine. But owners of these HE washers know that these can really vibrate when they go into their "warp dive" spin cycle. As we live in a mobile home, with relatively weak flooring, something had to be done to prevent the machine from eventually falling through the floor from fatigue failure. Came up with a very simple vibration dampening system using stiff "swimming noodle" foam. It works very well. Keep in mind the idea is not to stop the vibrations, but merely to dampen them. If it's not summer and you can't find swimming noodles, any stiff but spongy material should work just as well. Try placement of your material up high on the sides of the machine where the vibration movement is most obvious. Wedge the foam in along the sides, using the foam's own stiffness to hold it in place (no adhesive should be needed).Good luck!

  • It's an LG model number "WM2010CW"

  • Done a video response to this, I have never had this issue with my LG, it doesn't even slightly shudder even at 1400 rpm. Mine is on a solid concrete floor though.

  • @DeanJB7 the problem is that we live in a mobile home, and of course the floor of our washer room is not very solid. The feet are also level if you're wondering. Other people seem to have similar problem, where they just don't have a solid base available at home to support the machine (very important for a front loader). This fix may help reduce the vibrations for such people as it does for us.

  • 2/27/2010 Just saw these noodles today at Dollar Tree for a buck! All you need is one.

  • So, what did your wife say about using the ugly orange noodles for her aesthetic expensive machines :)

  • Our washroom isn't really for visitors, so she doesn't mind. But these are available in many colors. I suppose I could find them in white.

  • good idea!!! you can find it in dollar store too :)

  • @keltoid hey retard? thats a good way to start an argument you are about to lose. I have been a service engineer for 10 years on these things, now i run one of the largest service centres in the country. Millions is spent engineering these washers, and every time this occurs it is always an installation problem, ie: crap wooden flooring/ feet not levelled. Good luck taking yours back, they will tell you exactly what i would say. There is fuck all wrong with it, and you are not getting a refund.

  • @spencer19811 - hey, retard. I have a brand new LG washer and it has been completely leveled, several times in the last 2 days we have owned it and it takes off like a bull in a china shop every time it spins, so stop sticking your nose in and being rude when you don't know what you're talking about. GOOD FOR YOU that yours didn't do this... the piece of garbage is going back to the store in this case.

  • @t00nz843z

Good idea! I have a flat tire that shakes my car. Now I know it only needs a couple of swimming noodles to prevent it from shaking hard.

No more search for the reason, you saved my day. Thanks a lot!

Dont forget to reinforce your wall....

  • Can someone please tell me the model # of this washer?

  • Level the feet you retard. That's why they are adjustable.

Actually you're right, putting some stupid bright Orange tubes in between it is a much better idea.

    Arse bandit

  • Don't mess with success! Good job! Nice and simple and it works too. A+
