PART 2 of the BustedHalo interview with Anne Rice on the release of her second book on the life of Jesus: Christ the Lord, The Road to Cana.
TOPICS DISCUSSED IN PART 2: American religiosity, the struggle to write a novel about Jesus that is both compelling and Biblically faithful. The perpetual virginity of Mary. Her theological conservatism and her disagreements with some skeptical critics.
Anne, when you say 'these kinds of things", do you mean religion itself in Politics? Because remember, there were people who were afraid of Kennedy being President because he was Catholic. So it's been going on, this question of Faith in Politics, more than 40 years, for sure.

Anne is not promoting "perversion" and "abominations," as far as I know, based on her book about how God saved her & brought her back to the church. I don't know why you would say that.

People are entitled to believe whatever they wish. As is she. You are not the guardian of 'truth'.

Anne, how can you "consecrate" your work to Christ, when you are promoting and defending what the Church and Holy Scripture calls, "Perversion" and "Abominations"? Don't know how or if you truly pray, but going against God's inspired word, one should be very careful to think they can "consecrate" such work. Think your putting the cart before the horse. Why not sit in front of the tabernacle, like Bishop Sheen, who says he did his best work there. You are being deceived of the truth.
