"Tales of the Wizard of Oz" was animated at Crawley films in Ottawa. Sadly the studio no longer exists. A friend of mine actually had a summer job painting cels of the muchkins!

Man, I HATED that little "Daisy" girl!! Got on my nerves every Saturday (at 9:30--that's when RD&MT aired). Glad you uploaded though, 'cause I haven't seen it since the first run. Looooooong Time.

I did,too.I did see this show,wondering if any of the cartoons would be faithful to Kenneth Ghrame's original concepts.i can't remember any that were.

Mushi is probably best known for "Astro Boy."
The studio was founded by Osamu Tezuka, mostly to animate his manga properties. Eventually, they started animating other people's manga. Before it went bankrupt in 1973, they also animated this for Rankin/Bass (along with Frosty the Snowman)

This obviously appears to be animated in Japan, judging by the slower frame rate than most standard American cartoons. Was "Tales of the Wizard of Oz" also animated in Japan?

Yes, this was animated in Japan. "Tales of the Wizard of OZ" was animated in Canada.
