Dan Savage showed his true rainbow colors when he laid into young high school students, 2500 of them, about their Christianity and the "BS" of the Bible. He was a bully at the pulpit to his captive audience, except there were stalwarts among them... those who had the courage to get up against the ridicule, take a stand, and calmly walk out of that auditorium while the eyes of 1000's were upon you. Those are the Hope of Israel, rising in might, with the sword of truth and right, sounding the war cry, watch and pray, vanquish every foe today! They did, and Mr. Savage reaps the strong backlash of abusing his position, his voice, against the religion's sacred tenets.
Mr. Savage knows like so many others, that his words and criticisms of the Bible are completely abusive, taking the meaning of them completely out of the context of the Law of Moses, a long fulfilled ancient law before Jesus Christ fulfilled that. Slavery was servitude, and a cultural norm. Today we have employees free to go, but anciently it was not so. The closest thing to compare in our current culture is the military, where a soldier does not have free passage, and is in servitude to the military for a time. If they break that agreement, they do go to jail. Criticizing the Bible for "servitude/slavery" is no different than criticizing the military today. I mistake. Its much worse, but Dan doesn't even dare criticize the military.
