  • thats not sustan man, thats feedback... try with the les paul at the same spot and it will do the same

You're not watching Johnny's left hand vibrato technique.

This clip is 3 years old and the points have been argued to death.

I own the Black '85 Les Paul Studio Standard

It still sounds better than Johnny's One Piece, but

Johnny's 10 pound one piece guitar does sustain more.

I actually like Johnny's new maple neck through Limba Guitar even better.

  • It may actually have more sustain (this video does not really demonstrate this well) but what we see in this video is artificial sustain provided by the amp. Stand away from the amp or turn it down so we can hear the true sustain of the guitar...

If you had read any of the previous comments, you might have noticed that this video was made with

a $150.00 Kodak Camera THREE YEARS AGO!

Johnny has his own youtube channel where I'm sure he would love to hear from you.

  • John tells me the finished weight of the guitar is 10 pounds.

  • im pretty sure thats just feedback. when you stood in that spot with the les paul, it started to feedback. so you went to the side. when you put on the one piece, it was about to feedback as well but you stayed in that spot and played. i think you should probably do this on a clean amp not set to loud and see which really has mor sustain. i doubt 1 piece would help much. i have bolt ons which sustain more than les pauls.

  • You should do several sustaintests with proper scientific meters and compare at least 50 necktrough and 50 1 piece guitars if you are gonna say honest that these guitars have better sustain. Not just salesman talk. (sorry bad english:))

Neck thru and one piece, bolt on, set neck, ETC ETC, do not effect tone.

    Playability and pickups do. :)

  • Like i said on the other video, the Gelvin one piece guitars guitars put this to shame. Why did you waste a nice piece of wood for this? I mean, the craftmanship is really good. Its just a waste to use on a fender design.

  • ''...the amazing about this guitar is.. TWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNN''

  • It could be fret buzz?

  • @timmy47

This was like take 10 or 12 or something, even with the amp set just to breakup,

it was clear that John's guitar had a lot of natural resonance.

I'm just happy for him that he's enjoying something he built and SO FAR

the neck hasn't twisted, which alone is pretty darn amazing.

A lot of that ice picky top end is gone now after I traded away the K-120.

The Weber is kinda chewey blended with the EVM-12L and that works OK,

but I still want to try an AXA12 in that cab.
