My Pet Crocodile

ROCKBANK, AUSTRALIA: Vicki Lowing, 52, has treated Johnie the crocodile like another child since he was left on her doorstep in 1996 by an anonymous person. Johnie was very underweight and unhealthy but Vicki set up a large tank in her front room for him and nursed him back to health. But Vicki's devotion to Johnie did not impress her then husband Greg who gave her an ultimatum, either Vicki gave up Johnie or Greg would leave. But Vicki said: Husbands can look after themselves but my crocodile can't make his meals. So, after a lengthy split, the couple divorced in 2005. Greg went out and worked 12 hours a day, seven days a week. But when he got home, he found it frustrating that I spent my time concentrating on Johnie. I think he became jealous of the amount of time I spent with Johnie," said Vicki.

The crocodile is born in 96, but why is he so small? Is that normal for this species?
