Spencer is a 6-1/2 year old boy with Asperger's Syndrome, a high-functioning type of Autism. He loves to create things. Every time he learns something new, he wishes to replicate it many times and in as many ways as he can. On June 5, 2010, he wanted me (dad) to help him build a B-17 Bomber out of Tinker Toys.

  • Tinker Toys should totally hire him to make designs for them. That's brilliant!

  • @notdonebaking Thanks so much! These are just a few of the hundreds of things he's built. He builds something every day (Tinker Toys, Legos, wood blocks, construction paper, you name it).

  • That is awesome! I have been a long time fan of WW2 aviation and this made me smile to see this, he's a bright young man. You know whats interesting is if he had put a rounded nose on this B-17 and taken the propellers off, it would have been an almost darn near perfect copy of a WACO Glider (minus the fabric coating that went around the frame) WACOs were used to transport glider troops into Normandy on D-Day and into Holland in Market Garden. Either way, AWESOME stuff your son is doing.
