Conures - great watchbirds! My birds also pay attention when my conures make alarm calls. The conures scream a few times, and if theyre really concerned, get quiet & small and fix their eyes on it and I follow their gaze. Many times it takes me a few minutes to see the tiny speck way up high that they see. When its closer I recognize it as a bird of prey. They know flight patterns of birds of prey when just a speck! They recognize accipitor specks from other birds of prey & teach each other.
