Governor Bill Richardson (D-NM) was the featured speaker at the Latino Leaders Luncheon Series™ on February 27, 2007. Bill Richardson was re-elected to a second term as Governor of New Mexico with the support of 69 percent of voters in 2006, representing the largest margin of victory for any Governor in state history. Last month he announced the formation of an exploratory committee for President of the U.S. He served as Secretary of Energy to President Bill Clinton, implementing tough efficiency standards to save energy and spent 14 years working in the United States Congress. He was also appointed by President Clinton as the Ambassador to the UN, receiving four nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work negotiating for the release of hostages, American servicemen and political prisoners in North Korea, Iraq, and Cuba.

Governor Richardson was introduced by Adolfo Carrion, President of the Borough of the Bronx. Other speakers at the luncheon included Jorge Mursuli, National Executive Director for Democracia USA and Mickey Ibarra, Latino Leaders Network Founder and Chairman.
