Trying to start the Crown Vic. I think one main reasons this car won't start up is the starter. My theory is it is drawing too much power and draining the battery but I don't have the equpment to test how much amperage the starter is drawing.

  • I guess that car still holds the title and ill saying it again...... That is one "Cranky Crown" lol. I wonder if the starter off of your van engine would fit it they are both 302's arent they?

  • @More350Power I'm pretty sure they are the same, I'll have to check it out in the spring.

  • wow that car looks like it's in great shape

  • @coolbluelights It came from texas so the body is in pretty good shape, just has some mechanical issues.

  • it might help if you used both batterys at once, just wire em up together. if anything it should give you a longer chance to turn it over.

  • @vega660 I might have to if one battery doesn't do the trick

  • i posted a response called getting a park ave out of 4 feet of snow, we had about the same storm here lol. it was not fun with my little sidewalk snowblower haha. comments appreciated :)

  • @bah53 they put it on a machine and do a full test on it, and then they give you a printout. atleast the autozones here do

  • @bah53 yea they can test it, ive taken a starter in to have it checked. the fun part is taking the starter out and putting it back in lol, especially in the snow/cold. haha.

  • @bah53 i belive they have a load tester. i would ask them though before you remove it
