Judge Greg Mathis examines the current state of urban America through the prism of two American cities with large working-class African American populations -- Newark, NJ and Oakland, CA -- in "Mean Streets: Cities Under Fire."
Not to take anything away from blacks and gov't jobs but have blacks been too focused on getting those jobs over becoming business owners? He said that there weren't enough jobs in his area. Could that be because we don't have enough black owned businesses in cities like Newark that could be providing more employment? I mean,I once read that Asians owned more businesses than blacks in majority black cities like Detroit and D.C.
