July 2003
Anchorage, Alaska
The pilot of this plane put the fuel selector on a near-empty tank and tried to take off. The engine, starved of fuel, shut down and the pilot had to make a forced landing on the largest strip of land he could find ahead of him: in this case, a crowded baseball field.
I am laughing so much at your comment right now!

If you listen REAL carefully as the umpire calls the time out, you can hear somebody else say "holy sh*t!"

Did the pilot survive???

the guy forgot to switch tanks and turn his aux pump on, the 207's dont have a gravity fed fuel system, so when they run out of gas, the pilot simply turned the fuel selector without turning his aux pump on....expensive mistake...

I would be very suprised if that guy survived w/o injuries. He landed with about 100ft on a grass field when that plane would need around 700ish feet for a safe landing. Also, the pilot is a complete dumbass because in the pre-flight and before take-off checklists it states "FUEL SELECTOR ON", obviously he was selfish and almost killed himself.
