I have had MS for 32 years. Will stem cell therapy help me, and if not, why not? If it will help me, how do I get in touch with the appropriate persons?

Search ClinicalTrials*gov . Dr. Burt is recruiting, and that website may have his contact information - or he is centered at Northwestern Momorial Hospital in Chicago and contact may be at his bio on that website or the college's. This treatment works by knocking out the old immune w/radiation and rebuilding w/your scs. Resheathing is extensive and 'replacement' unlikely - which is why embryonic wouldn't work. Beta can dedifferentiate, may work - also numbing pancreatic nerves (not stem cells).

He knocks the Immune system out with high doses of chemo therapy and then he loads it back in your system wth Stem Cells, It alos costs 100,000 dollars, it isnt cheap at all. No insurance either because its not coveed by insurance, its a clinical trial. Its not FDA approved yet, so insurance companies dont cover it.

This is in ClinicalTrials*gov, # NCT00315133 . Don't know cost, usually they are a few thousand for expenses, though. Some have been able to get insurance to pay for some in his lupus / crohn's trials because the process itself is not experimental - just for this condition. Regardless, it is something available today.
