It's more adult than Space 1999. For example, to start with we're presented with the idea of invading aliens, which is the standard Terran propaganda of course. Then later we start to realize that these aliens are desperately seeking an escape from their dying world, and that the truth is that they're being portrayed as aggressors because the humans don't want to share the planet with them.

Well worth a look if you only know Anderson from his kids' shows.

Better than 1999, depends on what you are looking for. Like to be on top of things with plenty of weaponry to boot and actually destroy aliens? then this is your show. But if you like being under the situation lost from earth and meeting every alien that is stronger than you but human compassion and love is a factor, as well as a little less corn, then space 1999 is for you.

What I love about this show is that it's set in the future (which is now our past). 1980 looks very much like the late 1960's. Joking aside love the show

My experience with UFO has been watching it on SciFi and (Thank God) DVD; and as a woman who notices what makes other women beautiful (so I can attempt to duplicate), I have often thought there have never been any ladies more beautiful than Gabrielle Drake.  What a sweetie she must be.
