http://www.dahon.com. The BioLogic ReeCharge from Dahon can charge an iPhone, iPod, or other handheld electronic device using the electricity generated by the dynamo hub of a bicycle. After the ReeCharge is fully charged, remove it from the bike, toss it into your bag and you now have emergency power backup whenever you need it.

  • Neat. But what about the bike lamp? Does it have to be unplugged while the charger is on? Also, is there a way of securing the charger on the bike? I would prefer to leave it on. Thanks

  • @Boisvert73, the lamp and the charger can both be used at the same time so you don't have to unplug the lamp while charging. The ReeCharge easily attaches to the bike with a silicone strap so you can leave it on or take it off as you like.

  • Currently, there is only one USB port on the device so for now only one device at a time.

  • Places to purchase?

  • The ReeCharge will be available starting next year at select dealers worldwide and through our online shop.

  • Pretty slick. One of these should be on every bike. Always have power for your GPS, phone and MUSIC!

  • Yeah, we're very excited about this product. Besides powering your electronic device, the ReeCharge has three charge indicator LEDs on the front which also doubles as a bright safety light at night.

  • can you use it for the iphone 4 or iphone 4s?

  • When will it be available for sale???

It's been almost 8 months since EuroBike 2009!

  • Honestly I like the idea of it being easily detachable from the bike because you can bring it with you to use off of the bike.

Also, that's pretty darn big & personally I prefer small when it comes to my lights.

  • AH! I want it! Must HAVE IT.

  • And ... want!

  • would be great if it powered the hub too =)
