Light Effect Animation Tests

I'm working on my final graduation film for my animation course.
Been working on it for about 3 months.

I've been creating various concept work for that time, but last week I started animation tests.
And here is a little teaser of what I've been working on.
Various light tests - a big part of the animation involves light in a city being sucked into a void, to make sense of that here's a synopsis of the short film.

Story Explanation!

It's a 3 minute black and white film based on this city built around and on top of a gigantic robot, which the people are mining heavily for light and energy.

They have enslaved this robot and are bombarding it with pump-jacks, wires, cogs - everything to extract this robots energy in order to power their wasteful city - they are much like a 'Parasitic Urban Organism'.
Eventually this robot, so unstable from all the mining of it's energy - blows! And from the wreckage of the robot a light entity emerges - it's the very essence of the robots energy.

This light entity escapes into the city clearing where it surveys what the people have done to it's energy - and in the climax it sucks up all the light in the city so that's all that's left in the city shrouded in darkness is a neon sign that flickers and cuts out also.
