I'm trying to visit lots of different places of religious significance, as well as non-religious, with my kids. This is a record of our visit to the Cathedral of Saint Paul (www.cathedralsaintpaul.org), which is in Minnesota (USA).

Although I do not teach my children that God exists (or does not exist), or that only one religion is true (or none are), I do believe it is important that they are informed and educated about religious matters. This is so they are able to make up their own mind about what they believe, or not believe, about such things!

  • Matthew 4:10 ~ "You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.'"

  • Is this intended to be an anti-Catholic comment?

  • Absolutely not my friend - Just an admonition to seek the Lord with all your heart.

He is wonderful, He fills to overflowing with inexpressible, deep, satisfying joy!

Deuteronomy 4:29 ~ Seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

  • My apologies... I come from a tradition where such words would have an implied alternative (derogatory) meaning!

  • It is true and amazing that the very words of the Bible mean such incredibly different things to people - It all depends on where you are coming from.

  • Oh I agree, and unfortunately some rather wonderful words have at times been interpreted in derogatory and demeaning ways!

  • Deuteronomy 6:6-8 ~ And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
