How to fix run time error/ hl2.exe not repsoinding vista

Read here!!
This is how i fixed my call of duty4, so what you have to do..
Search catalyst: Go to basic set-up, next, quick settings,3D quality,go, click on "use 3d setting below:" then set the bar to balanced.

Catalyst is your graphics card. or nvidia or any other type, find it then do the same as what im doing but on your card.

i have vista with cod 4.. i get same message but catalyst dosent come with my vista.. is there a website that you can download off? if so could you tell me the link. Cheers

I think you should be able to, i don't see why not. I guess You should still be able to do a similair thing with a different program. but i forgot the name of the other ones xD

when i play to the stage that need to defend alyx.Suddenly the HL2.exe popping out and said microsoft C++ Runtime error PLS HELP!!!!! I am using intel 4500m graphic media accelerator. :(
