1986 NSU Spartan Legion at Hampton U. Everyone tries to lay claim that they were to the first to play Neck. Well here's video proof that the Legion started it all.

  • The opening fanfare is called A Diamond Fanfare.

  • Now post Hampton's show .... ;) Hampton would be on the Legions ass back in the day...I have footage to prove it....ya'll NSU old heads try to mke it seem ya'll would kill Hampton lol...Hampton would get on the field deep and show out too! Where is Hampton's show? lol

  • @Blakmajik78 It's coming let me get my Legion footage up first. I especially want to put that FAMU tribute HIU did when they spelled FUNK on the field cause they couldn't have possibly stole that idea right?

  • @NSUMDFS You can't pull the wool over my eyes...after all those lies about ya'll destroying Hampton back in yours days....the footage says it all old man lol POST HAMPTONS SHOW!

  • @Blakmajik78 Yall were finished after "Going In Circles" we could have marched off and that would have been enough. LOL

  • Both bands had been playing Neck by 86. Neck was actually introduced in 1984. I played it with The Force in 85. I know for sure Hampton played it in 84 as well. I cant speak to any time frame before then

  • So, what is the name of the opening tune (fanfare)? That would be delicious with the new Legion sound.

  • Hampton's show?? LOL...how about we post that thrashing from 1984 with the crooked rainbow prop you had hanging from a crane? It was always funny how the week of the game with NSU Hampton's band would almost double in size and mysteriously shrink the week after.

Like Newsome said, the pirates could dance but they never did much playing.

  • @Blakmajik78 Um......if you have footage to prove...then prove it.

  • Post Hampton's show...Sure you want us to do that?lol Seriously, Hampton could jig a bit no doubt so they certainly got their share of house during halftime. NSU on the other hand was the complete package (sound, precision, intensity, discipline). Jigging was the icing on the cake
