2009 has been the summer of fires in British Columbia, as hundreds of thousands of hectares of pine-beetle killed forest go up in flames. Most of this movie was filmed in June at the Tyaughton Lake fire, with some shots of the Pemberton Copper Dome and Camel Humps fires.
Thanks to all the fire fighters, chopper pilots and tanker crews for their work in this difficult summer. Even with the most active fire season on record they managed to hold the line for all but a small handful of structures, all across the province.
I put this together for the 2009 Bralorne Filmmakers Showdown.
Every shot in this video has personal meaning for me. It is moving for that reason. Very Well done Peter!

This is a very touching piece to watch for myself and those who experienced the tragedy. Very well done Peter!
