Shambala is located in Acton, California. It is a sanctuary for abandoned large cats. It is operated by the non-profit Roar Foundation headed by actress, Tippi Hedren. These photos were taken on April 20, 2008.

@herbienbrian In my top 5 as well. I used to think the song was in honor of this preserve but it isn't. It should be.

Those big cats are cool and they know it. This 3 Dog Night tune is cool to.

I've been here and met Tippi. The animals are well taken care of. We need more people like Tippi with the revenues to set up sanctuaries such as this.
