It is. Not only does it teach engineering but it's also a great introduction to robotic programing. It originally uses graphical drag and drop program system but you can go 1 step up and use NXC, a type based programing guide.

Nice! you solved the problem of plastic bending when it takes a step by havign the axis lean. But can you also make it turn and support micro processor weight? I wish I had a video of one I built years ago 2ft tall that would find its way around the house with IR radar with light sensors and it was able to turn with tow turn tables at the ankles that would swing in opposite directions when it takes a step to turn it.

@3Camj My DINO X-1 and X-2 do turn, check them out if you haven't . I also have a video off the newest version off this robot, the DINO 6B, version 4.

The best walking robot I've ever seen. Is it one motor ;o?

Thanx man! One motor only. But I don't think this is the best one I have made, that has to be the DINO X-2 (check it out). I also have two versions of the DINO 6B that is working on the same principle as DINO 6A. I am now working on a version 4 of DINO 6B that should be more similar to the 6A, and I hope that one should be better than 6A.

Slow but very stable, and it is very solid looking. 5 stars.

DINO 6B is made, and I will post the video soon. Same principle as the 6A, but very fast and even more stable. Check allso out my Dino X-2 if you haven't.
