This is the very first step toward coloring your characters, I included a small bit on AO combining, but the next tutorials is all about AO map creation :)

Hope you guys find it useful!!

  • He has the invader zim thing on his back

  • I'm not familiar with Invader Zim. Is this a good or bad thing to have the Zim thing on his back?

  • what version of max is this ?

  • This method should work on MAX 8 and up. :)

In a bit I'll be showing how to create a complete diffuse with all the layers baked in! :)

  • umm good tut but where is the lesson 2 or more for this tut contunied?

  • wait wait just a min, How are you applying all these to different parts of the same mesh? Did you assign them before to different materials?

  • WHEN I RENDER OUT THE TEXTURE I GET A MESSAGE THAT SAYS:

"The following elements dont specify a target map slot"

What dose that mean? Also, am i suppose to have already UV Maped my character and then render out the texture?

  • omg i love your tutorials!

  • well its not a bad thing or a good thing, It just reminds me of a show called Invader Zim, Zim was an alien who had that thing on his back

  • getting good now :) going to have to watch a few more times !!
