Three old friends, Chris Romaine, Bill Schmidt and John Schwab recently celebrated their 180th birthday (60 each) by gathering a huge gaggle of oldtime musicians who formed and re-formed eight or ten impromptu bands during the evening. This, and the following seven tunes, are one example.
This bunch featured, clockwise from Bill Schmidt the fiddler, Bill, Pete Huey on finger style banjo, Kate Brett on clawhammer banjo, her husband Kevin Enoch on banjo-uke and John Schwab on guitar. All but Pete are members of the prize winning oldtime band, the Hoover Uprights.
It sure is,Davide. His wife Kate is playing one of his amazing banjos. I guess Kevin is a good deal more famous than I realized. I`ve had similar questions from the UK.
