  • Kind of a scary sight to see a mobile Joe Namath. If not for his knee injuries I truly believe he would have been an even more effective NFL/AFL qb.

  • The pass caught at 1:09 was number 40 David Ray - My dad's 1st cousin from Phenix City, Al.

  • Imagine how great Joe Namath would be without the knee injury's

  • this is really namath at his best. before his knees got completely obliterated (its suprising he could even play in the nfl, they were that bad), namath had all the tools of even the best modern qb right now! look how quick his feet were & his foot speed (probaly 4.6 speed). we know about the release, but to see it mixed w/ the lateral foot movement that he didnt have in the nfl, its an amazing combination to marvel at. if he had these knees in the nfl, he wouldve gone down as best of his era.

  • Dear Joe, Wouldn't it be nice if Alabamian McElroy takes us to the SB? ggbraunemolo

  • Joe Willie Namath...Incredibly quick overhand release....technically the best ever... quick feet, drop, setup, no one has ever got back as deep as quickly......still the benchmark for the position. No one did it better,,,,,,

  • Although the MOOSE is a USC grad, Joe Willy was the best ever at his position. The NFL would not be where it is today had it not been for him in Super Bowl III.

  • just think what kind of nfl career joe willie might have had, if the knee injuries didn't turn him into a guy who could barely move around. he himself said his best passing days were back in alabama, before the surgeries.

  • @darrinbaker00 Bear didn't implement the Wishbone until 71. You should google it....very interesting story!

  • He was a darn good runner in college...fast! Who would have thought it?
