My dad used to say the same thing about the WWF at this time, said it couldn't compare to Stampede Wrestling. His dad said the same thing, just comparing it to the carnival wrestling shows of his youth. Everything looks better with hindsight.

Mike Rotunda is perhaps one of the most underrated wrestlers of all time. Had that great heel formula and his ring work was very solid. I also hear he is a chill guy.

Despite the silliness of the IRS gimmick, this was a great match between 2 of the best technical wrestlers of their generation.

I agree that the cartoon character-era of wrestling was getting stale... but goddamnit, you had great matches and great skill in the ring. Look at this midcard match between Hart and IRS.. pretty spectacular. Nowadays, the WWE can't even put out a match even close to this..even on their PPV main events. All we have now are walking steroid tanks who can't do shit in the ring.

@maddingo12 WWE cares more about physiques than wrestling skill now apparently. In WWE, you are in trouble if you do cocaine or heroin and you're in trouble if you don't do steriods and testosterone
