Sophomore Joe Montana comes off the bench in the 4th quarter to lead Notre Dame to a comeback win at North Carolina in 1975. Don Criqui & Al Wester describe the action for Mutual Radio. Special thanks to KH for blending the black & white game film to the original radio broadcast.

  • football was gay back then that one wide receiver who caught the ball and ran 4 80yds 4 a td is 2 slow and would get shut down nowadays

  • The film runs at 3/4 speed, so it's partially in slow-motion. He basically scored because of a slip by the man who was covering him, and poor tackling by the player who came over to help.

Burgmeier was no world-class sprinter but he was deceptively quick back in the day.

  • I like the Carolina fans throwing cups at the ND player scoring the TD. Stay classy, Carolina.

  • @wes2k10 idk what ur talkin about that was an assome play and happens all the time "today" its just a poor decision by the only safty to hit high and assume he would go out of bounds. If not for tremendous balance and and poor decision by the tackler it would all be different but thats y footballs cool 1 play could change everything.Happend this yr against mich. Qb broke 80 or so yard run

  • too bad notre damn didnt have Montana last year when the Tar Heels beat the crap out of em! Weis was just craving a cheese burger and wanted to leave

  • i remember when he came back from 28-0 against archie manning and the saints

  • youre so stupid and so wrong

  • I was wrong, this was 1st, Air Force 2nd

  • He had the courage of a lion when it came to winning at the last minute. -He never settled for anything less but the best could get out of every throw/pass.

  • The voice of Don Criqui, on the record, predicting the legendary status of one Joseph Montana, is amazing. It is Criqui's John the Baptist moment, warning us of future greatness.
