"deeply brilliant...people need to see this amazing company" The New York Times
"some of the most interesting and intelligent performers in New York" The Village Voice
In the Greek tragedy, Alcestis, a king avoids his own death by sending his wife in his place--quite a set-up for Annie-B Parson and Paul Lazar's U.S. premiere of Supernatural Wife. Legendary myths and timeless issues are explored through a free-wheeling combination of dance, theatre, music, and video in this inventive modern adaptation of one of the great dramatic works of all time.
Co-Artistic Directors of Big Dance Theater, Annie-B Parson and Paul Lazar have received numerous awards for their dance and theatre work, including the inaugural Jacob's Pillow Dance Award in 2007. Parson has choreographed for stage, television, and film including Jonathan Demme's Philadelphia; Lazar is a seasoned actor and director whose film career includes roles in Silence of the Lambs, Beloved, Lorenzo's Oil, Philadelphia, and Henry Fool.
