native resolution is 2560 x 1440 for the 27"

max res. = (2560 x 1440) =/= any where near crap
In mirror monitor mode, ALL MONITORS can use only the same resolution as its host's monitor...
but all that is besides the point... which is... that 27 incher is an all-in-one computer WITH target display capability...
