I loved how she had a painted on smile the entire time. That was cute.

Wha... Why are there never cute girls who know what they're doing in the forest when I'm snowshoeing?
-
A) If you're in powder snow do not kick your snowshoes in, you will not grip anything with your cleats being that you're walking on powder and will only sink yourself in deeper
B) Before deciding to trudge across a frozen pond you should do a few simple things like look around the perimeter of the lake for any unfrozen spots or make a small hole to gauge the thickness of the ice and if you determine the pond is solid and thick enough to hold your weight than go on the pond.

Very good and useful video. I am going to start snowshoeing for the first time this winter.
Oh, and the girl in the back, Angela, I think, had a very nice, endearing smile, but I don't think she was trying to be hilarious- or maybe she thought the whole thing was hilarious- LOL

what type of shoes or boots do your wear? should I use hiking boots like Merrel? should I use snowboots like Sorels?

- I love wearing KEEN boots. I've been wearing Columbia's BugaThermo Tech-Lite boots. Sorel always makes a good boot, so you can't go wrong there. Just be sure the boots are waterproof, can be worn with gaiters and fit into your snowshoe bindings easily.
