MISTAKEN IDENTITY-A 9/11 Story on Sikhs in America

Winner of 3 first prize awards, this is Amanda Gesine's personal discovery of what happened to Sikhs after 9/11. She was shocked at the racial profing, verbal abuse and killings by Americans who mistook Sikhs for Arabs because they wore turbans and beards for religious reasons. She was determined to make a entertaining film showing her fellow Americans who are Sikhs, what is Sikhism and how they have contributed to the American economy for over 100 years as hardworking immigrants. This is her legacy to the world !

I apologize for any Sikhs that have been caught up in this foolishness. I have had Sikh friends in the past, and I know Sikhism is not a threat to anyone -- if anything, I think it may be what the world needs , , , It's rather beautiful.

It's good that this film was made, and of course Sikhism and Islam are not the same... but this whole "Mistaken Identity" thing could go for Muslim Americans and the Muslims around the world who are not Islamists or supporters of Al-Qaeda (a big majority.) The way this film is framed gives the impression that sectarian violence against Sikhs because they aren't Muslims, but against Muslims is OK, cause they are... which is a shame.

But what I would like to say here is that...there are so many things in each religion which we have to discuss not argue on that....as it is sensitive (I would say more over emotional)........it can be right or wrong. E.g. this Idol workship, In SIkhism it is prohibited...and when we say this...obviously Hindu bros will get hurt ....then what we can do....only discussion.As per sikhism we are human fst then sikh
