Exhumation of 5 German soldiers in Bavant, Normandie

A team of archeologists exhumes 5 bodies of German soldiers in Bavant, Normandy. The team carefully exhumed the bodies following standart archeological procedure; which is rare for World War 2 bodies. Three identification tags were discovered, which should permit the identification of the soldiers. According to the way the bodies were lying in the ground (some on their backs, others on their stomachs) and the fact that all three identification tags were complet, the archeologists deter,ined that the bodies had been buried by allied troops. The 5 Germans were apparently killed during fighting with British and Canadian paratroopers duing the first hours of the Allied landing on June 6th 1944.
