It is supposed to repay itself in a year with energy cost under 3/kwh cent.

It does not need fuel or energy to operate.

Snuff- Mercury is GREAT, but- also VERY toxic!! ACK! I wouldn't want to use a big mercury seal near my house!! And, I really think that just MAGNETS would work fine, no high-tech necessary! The Concept is Great- building it?? LOTS of money!! Still, it does look better than a few dozen 120' tower propellers!

Maglev is expensive, but there is a better cheaper solution for levitation, do a search for inductrain, another solution is to float the groundplate on a layer of liquid mercury, this is how they almost frictionless made multi ton lighthouses spin 150 years ago

I have a concept idea using 4 vawts for a listed building in London. The vawts would be 180 ft high. I will publish in january on some architectural blogs

You should have em turn clockwise for the billion or so folks who are superstitious towards counter clockwise rotation. See Buddhism * Hinduism. Good luck friend ,,,lov the design.

People!!! Is the power you use on "frictionsless" maglev equal to the money you soend on ballbearrings? :D Yes it is... Plus, imagine a hurricane. Yea.. this wind collector will be soo fall apart on very strong winds... If anyone know better, please reply..

@Athenaikos I would not bet on this design being workable without extremely expensive exotic materials. However, the single axis design is superior at large scale to the 2 axis propeller. Compound centrifugal forces are more destructive than single axis centrifugal force. Permanent magnet levitation would be prohibitively expensive, but possible. Efficiency would be extremely low in terms of cost and energy.
