to chaser11.. im in the navy and yes you can be blown off from the exhaust it happens alot.. the jets are on when they are getting taxied around the flight dck.. so it porb. did happen.. ive seen two ppl get blown off... no ur facts

@chaser11able Just repeating what I heard. Maybe it wasn't afterburners, I always did have trouble believing that part. But the 6-pack part is true.

@womb0womb0 bull crap. Theres no area to be hit by afterburner. Upon takeoff a wall stands up behind the plane and upon landing your buddy would have to be standing in the middle of the cables. So either your buddy's a retard or he was pulling your leg and you didn't pick up on it. I'm sure he fell..however the "afterburn and six pack" parts to the story are just stupid. Sorry.

Jesus H Christ. I have a friend who served on an aircraft carrier (not sure which one) and was knocked off the ship by a plane's afterburners because he wasn't paying attention. Somehow, he survived the fall, broke many many bones. While they were dispatching a helicopter to save his broke ass, the captain ordered the men to throw him a 6 pack off the side of the ship. When he got back on, the captain in a very pissed tone simply said, "You owe me a 6-pack, asshole."
