Earth Day, on board the HMS Queen Mary ship in Long Beach, California.
April 22, 1993. Glenn Hughes performs one of Deep Purple's biggest hits, although, originally recorded with Ian Gillan on vocals, before Glenn's arrival.
Note before the song, he sings "Burn, baby, burn" a quick reference to his famous album and song with Deep Purple "Burn" which in my opinion, was an obvious attempt to build on their previous hit, Smoke On The Water.
Glenn one of the best singers but Gillan is the best ;)

measuring vocal notes are facts, your is just an opinion...I know both Glenn and Gillan vocals abilities and notes...and I repeat it: Glenn never reached Gillan's notes...plus I prefer Gillan's personality, voice, inventiveness, versatility, writing, peculiarity.

watch deep purple in california jam Glenn singing mistreated with david coverdale.
almost in the end of the song Glenn gives some very absurd notes that Gillan never did even in his dreams. and that's a fact !

It's funny how his falsetto screams sounds similar to Gillans. Nice vid, wish I was there!
