Richard Shafranek and Maya Brod, student fellows from the Center for Political Participation at Allegheny College, led a discussion on Civility & Politics at the Emerging Leaders Conference at Harvard's Institute of Politics Feb. 28, 2010.
@jazzandmint, Thank you for your comments. The Center for Political Participation (CPP) has been trying to improve the tone of politics and create a more civil democracy this spring. Please check out some of the videos we have added to our favorites list. The link to our website is now listed on our channel which contains more information about our civility project. Please check it out.
Thanks for the upload. This is a great assessment of the difference between a rational conversation and an uncivil argument. I think that all too often political pundits from both sides try so hard to find a reason to attack the other for nothing more than the sake of attacking the other side. If you go on almost any video thread related to politics you will see this backbiting in progress. In some ways I feel that these young students are more mature than high-status politicians. Well done. :)
