recently purchased a copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. After playing for a few days the number of hackers I have encountered was ridiculous. I'd say the number of hackers is increasing every day. I read the VAC bans hackers the same way Blizzard has been doing it for wow. They ban as a large group not per infraction. After the first two wave I think we will be able to see if it works effectively for this type of game. COD MW2 PC

Aimbots have varying levels of effectiveness. Some games, including GoldenEye 007, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, Timesplitters, Half-Life 2, Unreal Tournament 2004, and Call of Duty: World at War, have "auto-aim" as an option in the game. This is not the same as an aimbot; it simply helps the user to aim when playing offline against computer opponents usually by slowing the movement of 'looking/aiming' whilst the crosshair is on or near a target. It is common for console FPS games to have this feature to balance out the lack of precision, compared to using a mouse on a PC game, in using analog sticks to aim.
