Conversions are judged taking into account the hardware limitations of the host machine. As you said, this version of r-type is quite good (I'd say not really amazing) considering the master system's hardware. For an amazing conversion, check out the C64 version of r-type.

I watched the PC engine version of this, before i watched this version and on level 6 there is an end of level boss after u kill or dodge them enemy thing, so how come all the other versions didn't have it.

Naturally it was superficially inferior, but I really enjoyed myself playing the Master System version. That's all that matters really isn't it? I didn't feel at all cheated paying full price for it. That was pretty rare at the time !! :-) It amazes me how they managed to make Super R-Type on the SNES so crappy. Ho hum.
