I'm so in love with the Starship. I have always dreamed of owning one. I know it won't happen, but this is and always will be my favorite airplane. It makes me so sad to know that they will never be in production again.

What company provide initial training for this, I reckon only handful of people rated for starship nowdays ... But still it's an iconic plane

Great vid thanks for posting, btw if your looking for a 600/200 hour F/O with a A&P let me know haha!!
The King Air is great, and it is still around -- watch out for a new one coming down the road if HBC can keep it together...

I remember the pilots raving about how well they flew! One of the very distinct advantages it had was the stall characteristics. When it would stall, the nose would fall forward, just as a normal airplane does, and then the canard would start flying and bring the nose up again. If you held it with the aleorvator (aleoron and elevator combination) full in the nose up condition, it would just float down like a leaf, or so I was told.

Yep! If you are carrying more than about 25% torque, you will actually climb in the stall -- it is amazing!

When I lived in Las Vegas I worked for a company that managed 5 of these beautiful airplanes. The company's name was (is) Corporate Flight International and they are based at McCarren. My dream at the time was to get to fly one of them but other opportunities came along and I never did get to. I now live in McAllen, TX and fly in and out of Mexico on a daily bases. There is a Starship sitting on the ramp down in Tampico, Tamulipas just rotting away. I'm sad every time I see it there.

Ahhhh...you know Ira; he's a great guy! Actually, our bird was one of the 6 that he had -- he picked ours up from the factory. The one in Tampico is really sad. I doubt she'll fly again based on her condition as of last summer.

What a beautiful airplane! I spent 2 year flying the 1900 and loved every second of it...the 2000 is pretty much my dream plane. I, too, grew up in Wichita; my high school is just a couple blocks from the Beech plant. I'll never forget the sound of the Starship over my house, or the beauty of the "green planes" coming out for their first trip through the pattern. Thanks very much for the videos of this wonderful machine, hopefully I'll see one in person again some day; before it's too late!

Where are ya at now? There are 5 of us left -- ya never know, we might be close to you.
As to the 1900 -- what a beast. I am typed in them, and love their capabilities; ugly plane, but one helluva workhorse!
