This is from my album of Secret of Mana covers, $20 Overalls. The piano in the original is too loud. There, I said it... Otherwise an awesome tune!

  • @themadmallard That's a good idea lol! I can't believe i didn't do that D: I suppose if you want something more computer oriented then yeah, go with famitracker or milky tracker. Yeah i love the track names for SoM!

  • @SuperWarMech thats why it was left-sounding, it was gameboy chip...I've loved me some gameboy tunes, but I always preferred the sound characteristics of the ol 2a03 engine. (i found this while looking for famitracker stuff). I've looked at the gameboy solutions, and they're too much tracker/sequencer, and not enough PC for me... :(

You should add LSDJ to the videos' tags so other users can find your stuff. ;p.

Good stuff, btw. Didn't SOM have like the best names for its songs? ^_^

  • @themadmallard Also good call on the stereo bit, been a while since i've played this game on a real tv setup...

  • @themadmallard LSDJ. I've looked into Famitracker, lsdj seems superior. And GSXCC is cheating lol! If you're looking into starting up with chiptuning, I would definitely recommend LSDJ. It's extremely versatile and once you get past the learning curve, it's full of surprises ;) But if you go that route, do yourself a favor and get a real gameboy DMG-01 with a prosound mod (and a backlight for good measure), some solid headphones, and a 64MB rewriteable GB smartcard.

  • the piano pan/sweeps all the way from left to right in stereo in the original, so to make sure its not lost, its usually louder than it would've been if it was played thru both channels.

What is your tone maker? Famitracker? Gs?

  • @crcyclone thank you! check out my others if you liked this one ;)

  • nice 8bit cover :)
