I agree, I love how, unlike most SF stories, the aliens are antagonists not out of malevolence, but out of genuine ignorance of Human intelligence. The subtlety of this film accomplishes so much, simultaneously conveying messages of both animal and human rights. And it's not often you see Humans treated as both pests and pets, either.

blue skinned aliens something tells me James Cameron watched this flick and we have the blue skinned Navi...but this story is fucked up beyond comprehension the humans have no superheroes to save them no Avengers,no Justice League and definitely no Chuck Norris!

Seriously though, these aliens don't seem so bad. While they DO have us as pets and pests, it's our own fault since it seems we destroyed our civilization before they arrived and found us in a feral state otherwise, perhaps they'd treat us better if they'd encountered us as a full fledged sentient civilization that travels the stars.
