-Can you please tell me if you can put 4 GB RAM in this computer and how to do it. I only have two places to put RAM cards and I'm wondering if I can put two cards of 2 GB DDR2 each. Can I also change the processor because I have one that is 2.8 GHZ. Thank you for your help.

GET A NEW FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
masonk1991 3 years ago
It wasn't worth getting a fan for this unit due to its age. This unit was a used unit that had some other minor problems and the client had used it for quite awhile not realizing the fan was bad so rather than taking the chance in something else go wrong, the client has a better computer.

BTW..this dell model is part of the GX series. Either GX150,240,260 or 270 SFF. You can find the model number where the power button is located.

Thank you very much for the information. Your reply is greatly appreciated. Thank you. I'll put a note in the video description saying that the model number has been identified.

You can use the XP hard drive if it is a Genuine installation, meaning that it is not an OEM version. If you have an OEM version, then that could be the problem because the current Windows sees the hardware as a totally different PC (i.e. Gateway to a DELL). You may have to re-install the Windows XP software, but do not re-format the drive, this way you can retrieve the current files that you have. If any more problems, please feel free to ask more questions. Hope that helps.
