  • Sylvester McCoy should have carried on from where he left of with just a fair budget creative "ENGLISH" series just like the other classic. Not an over dramatic Romatic calamity like it was. For the money they used, we could have had 3 Classic Stories instead of a D movie.

I agree that the TV movie was not all that great, and yeah the cost for what we got was horrid (Minus the console room, worth every red cent!), but Who had to change to survive, just as it has since 1966.

Also, the production was filmed in Canada, but also I think it was a natural progression and had nothing to do with any member of the creative staff of the TV movie being English or not...

Change is a very awkward word! Change with Benifit means Progress & Dr Who hasn't "Progressed". Anyone who watches the New stuff where by everything is Dramtic & full of Holes, & bereft of any sort of creativety & thinks that is better than the Classic Series is mentally disabled! To compare Classics Like Dalek Invasion of earth, Mind Robber, Inferno, Seeds of Doom, Androzani, Mark of Rani, Curse of Fenric etc to the New stuff is so sad. Dr Who is Dead! 1963-89. Sorry Steven Muppet!!!

I agree that not much of modern TV can stand up to classic television in general, never mind Doctor Who, but the New Series is still decent at the VERY least, and episodes like Father's Day. Boomtown, Rise/Age, Human Nature and even more recent examples like Eleventh Hour and Amy's Choice prove that.

Of course, you are more then entitled to your opinion, I'm jot one of those guys that bashes PPL for not liking something.

  • @tellymad649 Came here to say this!

  • In retrospect, the McGann Doctor Who movie was pretty rough going. It wasn't exactly in the classic spirit of Doctor Who either.

  • Paul McGann looks so weird with short hair and normal clothes :o

  • That theme sounds creepy....

  • You are quite wright, he even speeks with the same dialect. However from what I remember the film was pretty terrible.
