After the devastating fire of the mount Parnitha just outside the City of Athens, the mount Ymmitos right in the city of Athens is on fire as we speak endangering houses in the regions of Kesariani and Vyronas. I guess there is nothing left to burn here in Athens.

  • Condolences from Turkey, hope greece recovers soon

  • I'm looking at all of this pictures and I don't know what to say. The Greek tragedy is a tragedy for all of us from Serbia. I'm so sad that we could not help you more, 7 planes but that's all we have. We are praying for you every minute every day. It really breaks my heart. I'm a sad man but also outrage at people who set those fires. There is no bigger tragedy for one human then to lose a home, family member or a friend. We love you with all of our heart and may God be with you.

  • Another day where the greek people are betrayed by the greek government.

Keep voting the 2 losers Papandreou and Karamanlis. They don't care about Greece, or Greek people. They only care to make money, and more money to take with them in hell where they belong.

  • son of a bitch

  • burn ya cunts!

  • i just saw that...when turkish have accepted greek help...?'unfortunately' not even once...now as far as the fires are concerned..even if the whole world come and help..greece will be burning till the end under the power of money and not only..

  • In Greece 23,9% or 6208320 acres are classified as forest lands, as recorded in July 2007. In 2007 by August 31st the total forest area burned in Greece was 666899 acres. In less than 10 years Greece will no longer have forest lands if the current rate of forest fires continues.

  • Unfortunately Greece did not accept Turkish help!

  • I want to apologize my first comment. It concerns only "onlygodcanjudgeme34". Sick people like him destroy every effort we make to come closer and to have good relations in south-east europe and he is a shame for all the people from turkey who feel sadness and pity for that what happens in Greece. I never would wish that something like this happens in turkey or anywhere else.

  • feel like crying, feel angry seeing my country in such a disastrous condition. But on the other hand I want to thank for the solidarity of all who are with Greece, a. also especially here for the comforting and encouraging words from all the nice people who are from Turkey, Serbia and all the others. God bless you and let all the others see that such catastrophes are our common and real enemies. Let's fight together against these enemies. This is our challenge for a better and peaceful future.
