http://www.pauladeen.com/realwomen - Hey y'all! Girls, its our second round of Entrees already! That means we only have Desserts next week and then well, I cant even bring myself to say it! Denial isn't just a river in Africa! But, actually, there's nothing to be sad about at all this is just the beginning! Even though the competition ends in a couple weeks, our work together isn't close to being finished! This amazing community will live on, maybe forever! Were all gonna join together to create a giant cookbook chock-full of our favorite Philly-inspired recipes! So I don't want to hear any more lamenting, OK? Our Real Women friendships and community will live on!

So, on this beautiful Monday, lets talk about the stars of any meal the Entrée! Now, in my Creamy Country Ham Pot Pie, I make a roux AND I add delicious and tangy Philly Cream Cheese! I know! Its DOUBLE the creaminess, and I think you know I am really OK with that! Creamy things make folks happy, y'all! I also think this pot pie is a great example of how we can use convenience products in a really healthy and delicious way. I use pre-made puff pastry as well as a bag of frozen veggies, and honestly, the dish is just as delicious, it just means a little bit less work for the busy home cook!

I so appreciate you ladies taking chances and thinking outside of the box last week I think so many of you got out of your comfort zones and it really showed! The creativity was amazing! For this week, I wanted to talk about a couple of other really important features when you're making your videos:

1. Lighting. Now, I'm not askin' you ladies to have a professional lighting set up, but if you're cooking with a big 'ol window behind you, that probably means you're back lit and we cant even see your darling face! Its hard to connect with your audience if they cant see your facial expressions, so just remember, before you send your videos on over to me, be sure that they end result shows you at your very best and visible!

2. Sound. Again, I'm certainly not asking y'all to go get a professional microphone or anything crazy, but if you're filming outside, be sure the wind isn't too strong, or if you're near the ocean, it really can drown out your voice just things to be aware of!

When were over here going through hundreds and hundreds of videos, paying close attention to these little things will make you stand out from the crowd! We have the entire week to get this right, and I just wanted to be sure you ladies keep paying attention to these minor details that could add up to being chosen as a finalist for the Real Women of Philadelphia!

I hope my creamy pot pie helped you girls think of your favorite Philly-infused Entrees for this week! And while we certainly want original and interesting recipes, absolutely use help with those convenience products whenever possible they help! The trick is to know how to use them sparingly and cleverly you still gotta make it your own! Now, send in those Entrée videos starting today at 12pm, PST, and you're on your way!

I cant wait to see those Entrees, girls!

Love and Best Dishes!
