@sparkleNoats I am currently 14 and have read the unabridged translation of Les Mis 3 times. When I was 8 I understood the issues it deals with just as well as I do now. Please do not underestimate kids. I understand that there are some kids who are quite dense because they've been dumbed down by TV shows of this nature. I agree that it is a bastardization, but the thing is, any adaptation would be. This anime is actually truer to the book than any other televised version I've seen

This cartoon is an insult to the memory of Victor Hugo! The novel was not meant to be staged for children as the social issues are too dark and heavy for children to understand and the toning down of them is a bastardization of the masterpiece that is Les Miserables!
