Künneke composed his Dance Suite for Jazz Band and Orchestra in 1929 for German radio. It swings with a Roaring Twenties sound and is divided in to sections whose names conjure visions of dance halls and gin joints: Foxtrot, Blues, Intermezzo, and Valse Boston.

  • Hello John, glad you like it. I believe it is the Berlin Philharmonic.

  • Many thanks, DGatsby, for making this haunting little piece available. Who are the performers? The combined orchestras of Otto Dobrindt and Eugen Woolf recorded it many years ago on a little Parlophone 78. - John Austin, Australia
