Künneke composed his Dance Suite for Jazz Band and Orchestra in 1929 for German radio. It swings with a Roaring Twenties sound and is divided in to sections whose names conjure visions of dance halls and gin joints: Foxtrot, Blues, Intermezzo, and Valse Boston.
Many thanks, DGatsby, for making this haunting little piece available. Who are the performers? The combined orchestras of Otto Dobrindt and Eugen Woolf recorded it many years ago on a little Parlophone 78. - John Austin, Australia
Hello John, glad you like it. I believe it is the Berlin Philharmonic.
