Ryokan Dinner: 9 Course Traditional Japanese Meal

A ryokan is a traditional Japanese bed-and-breakfast, where a nakai serves breakfast and kaiseki (incredible, multi-course Japanese dinners). The one we stayed at was in Kawaguchiko, at the base of Mount Fuji. Each room included a private deck with a *very hot* onsen (hot tub). This was our second dinner.

The grape inside the flower is a gooseberry. Btw woman, aim the camera @ your man's face when he talks LOL! This meal was a bit of a waste on you both when you don't eat/like everything. This food is an artform & a once in a lifetime experience - but thanks very much for sharing. If not for the appalling camera work, I would say this was one of the best YouTube videos on food in Japan which I have come across. Well done in any case - good video, great concept and the gong is a nice touch too :)

i love japanese meal. they taste way more better than american food. im american but i like the japanese culture better. sushi and green tea is one of my favorite.
