Frank Kimmel Enduro Nationals Start 5/26/07

The start of the first annual Frank Kimmel Enduro Nationals. I think that might be me making comments while they're running,but I don't remember what I said if I said anything.

did they make them have radios in the car since it was that big of a track and cars like that dont usualy have them

Andy Hillenburg, the new owner of the ROCK, needs to host one of these at the ROCK. That would be sweet. Get Humpy to do one at LMS, a small street stock super speedway series.

If I remember correctly, I think Chuck Barnes (the winner) was hitting speeds around 131 mph. Not bad for Bomber cars. The wicker bill on top of the car slowed the cars quite significantly. During testing in 2005, some of them were reaching 140+mph without it. The date for the 2008 Enduro is May 24th.

Wow are they slow. After being to an arca race there and then lookin at them thats pretty slow!.

It was 10 g's to win, Thats $10,000.00 to win. The total purse I think was $25,000.00. Winnings were handed out down to 25th place

I too was in the race. Finished 49 when I bent some valve about three laps before the caution flag for fuel fill up. I finish 48 laps I think, I beleive I was on the lead lap and somewhere in the top 15. I think I ran to low of a gear. I was hitting almost 7100 rpm's going into the turns. There was something up with the engine. It was picking up strong rpm towards the end of the straight's, for some reason.
